With Arsenal having a 2 goals advantage to the start of the second leg of the semi final clash in Valencia as they have won at the Emirates with 3 – 1 scored by Lacazette (x2) and Aubameyang.
Unai Emery lined up a very attacking squad starting Özil, Lacazette and Aubameyang to secure the final spot.
Kevin Gameiro opened the score sheet in the 11th minute of the game to give the home side the lead and challenge for a comeback but their hopes went down when Arsenal and Gabonese striker Aubameyang netted the much needed away goal for the North London club with a beautiful finish in the 19th minute to cancel out Gameiro’s opener. Arsenal looks pressurized before the half time break and Valencia were so desperate to score.
Lacazette tries to give Arsenal the lead with a through pass from Auba but the ball strucks the bar just before the end of the first 45 minutes.
The second half of the game was full of shots and dramas, Lacazette found the back of the net with an incredible goal to convert Lucas Torreira’s pass.
Gameiro again helped The home side level up to make it 2 – 2 with a slight ball past Arsenal’s shot stopper Petr Cech.
As the game approaches it’s end, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored his second of the game with a fine finish to slot home Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ low cross to make it 2 – 3 and giving the Gunners their third away goal of the encounter.
As if that was not enough, after the tiki taka pass between Matteo Guendouzi and Mkhitaryan, the ball found Aubameyang again who doesn’t hesitate to score his Hat-trick of the night and went home with the Match ball to make the scoreline 2 – 4 and leaves the home side helpless on their own soil.
Arsenal won with an aggregriate of 3 – 7 to move one step away from lifting their European Cup.
Will the Europa League specialist (Unai Emery) lift the trophy again with another team?
